I had a slow week at work so I decided to hook up the boat and head to northern Michigan. (just kidding, the boat stays hooked up to my truck) I went without plans of where to stay so I just meandered around from Alpena to Brevort to Gaylord. I did a lot more fishing than photography but I managed to get a few good shots and even saw some eagles. The sunset photos are from the northern shore of Lake Michigan and have had a graduated filter added in software to cut down on the brightness of the sky, mainly because I haven’t purchased an expensive set of grads yet. So far the 70-200 plus 1.7 teleconverter had been a good combination but I am a little frustrated by the tendency to overexpose highlights which you can see in the eagle photos. I just need to figure out how to control this a little better.
